Launching of the iPad, there's been no lack of talk about tablets as netbook killers. But it turns out that Apple isn't looking to kill netbooks: Yesterday, it introduced it’s be the owner of netbook-size computer, an 11.6-inch MacBook Air, as well as a new 13.3-inch Air. Apple CEO Steve Jobs joked that the Air was what Apple thought would result if "an iPad and a MacBook hooked up."
With a fold-out keyboard and trackpad, the Air looks like a laptop. It uses Intel Core 2 Duo processors, much more powerful than the Atom that powers Windows-based netbooks. And its $1,000 starting price is closer to a laptop's than a netbook's.
