HP Pre3 and HP Veer

Palm announced that it’s a latest operating system, webOS 2.0, finally the world got a quick look of the first phones: HP Pre3 and HP Veer. Two of the 3G phones have vertical, slide-out keyboards, backlighted and look very much like current Pre models, and both of the phones have the talent to act as mobile hotspots for up to 5 devices with optional data plans. Sometimes they will be available this summer from as yet undisclosed carriers yet there is no prices have been announced.

The HP Pre3 is a business-class model with a 3.6-inch, 800-by-480 WVGA touch screen; a 1.4-GHz Snapdragon processor; and 8GB or 16GB of internal storage. In addition to a rear-facing 5-megapixel camera, the Pre3 will have a front-facing camera for video calling. Measuring 4.37 by 2.52 by 0.63 inches and weighing 5.5 ounces, the Pre3 is a CDMA phone with GSM roaming capability, which is a strong hint that it's heading to Verizon.

Other highlights include preloaded Quick-Office Connect mobile suite and support for corporate e-mail with encrypted data storage. The HP Veer will be one of the smallest smart phones ever made - measuring a mere 2.1 by 3.3 by 0.6 inches and weighing a scant 3.6 ounces. It will run on the GSM network. The Veer has a 2.8-inch, 320-by-400 touch-screen display; an 800-GHz Snapdragon processor; 8GB of internal storage; and a 5-megapixel camera.
